  • Add tofu or tempeh to sups, stews, stir frys and salads.
  • Use tofu or textured vegetable protein in place of cheese and meat in casseroles, chili, tacos and spaghetti sauce

Some Potential Benefits of Soybeans

  • They may reduce the risk of estrogen dependent breast and prostate cancers, perhaps by competing with real estrogen for receptor sites, thereby reducing cells exposure to estrogen
  • They may discourage the growth of cancer cells
  • They may lower blood cholesterol and reduce the risk of cholesterol build up
  • They may reduce the risk of osteoporosis by promoting calcium retention in bones.
  • They may relieve menopausal discomforts such as hot flashes
